Daily Blog#4

Hey sorry it's so late.  I was kind of busy with other things.  But anyways, our group got a lot done this past week.  We were not only able to figure out our project, we were able to get the Director of Food and Nutritions for Akahi to help us deploy some of our ideas.  Today the first of our project was deployed by putting out bus bins for the waste in the lunch lines.  This will increase productivity for the staff and accessibility for the students.  Next week we are expecting to put up benches to replace some of the round tables in Akahi.  This will maximize space and will create more room for lunch line accessibility.  There were some ideas that were kind of far fetched however.  This includes the palm scanner.  This allows day students to scan their hands which will identify them and will be able to access the breakfast line in the mornings.  This will probably not work out because we don't have the funds or the space to put the scanner.  I feel that if we are able to minimize the waste, we will be able to increase the income, which will help us supply greener plates and utensils, which will allow us to take food out of Akahi.  Everything has a chain affect.  If we waste less, we will be able to increase productivity and efficiency.  Sorry about the picture, I wanted a picture of the bus bins but I wasn't able to go to lunch today and I couldn't take a picture of them.  Next week hopefully.
