The Bug List

This is just a simple bug list for our group...
1.  I believe that Joe had an idea about the lunch lines in Akahi.  He wanted to make a more efficient way of going through the lunch lines.  Sorry if I wrote this wrong Joe...

2.  I wanted to do something about the halls of Konia.  In some areas, the halls get very congested and it's very difficult for students to walk around.  But that's in my opinion.

3.  I'm not sure this will work because some people don't want to do this, but I want to see if people could try wearing their lanyards... I know it sounds stupid, but I don't see why people don't want to wear their lanyards.  I barely notice it on... Sometimes I have to check if I am wearing my lanyard.  But then again I am a nerd.

4.  Maybe we could start incorporating music in our classes.  Just an idea but I read that different types of music actually help stimulate the brain, improving grades.  Not sure if it will work though...

5.  Make lunch lines more efficient

6.  Try to make the dining hall less crowded

7.  Be able to take food out of Akahi

The Lorax Reflection

So before I start I want to say that I have seen this movie like a week ago but never got around to doing the blog until now.  So the movie was about how the town of Thneedsville (sorry I think I spelt that wrong)  has live by breathing "artificial" air.  Because of the affects of the Once-ler and his invention, he chopped down all of the trees and so there was no more air left to breath.  So the question asked from our teacher was "How does this movie relate to the project?"  I believe there are many different answers that could be provided.  For example, the Once-ler created an invention called the Thneed, which would help society for the better.  That mayor/evil person (sorry I'm really bad with names) created "artificial" air for them to breath, helping society.  And the overall message which was that Ted found a seed for a tree and planted it in the middle of the town to help people breath without the artificial air.  The thing I learned from this movie was to always help sustain the environment.  From the beginning of the movie, the first question that came to mind was "How are they able to breath without trees or plants?".  I later learned that they had to pay for their air, which I found to be very cruel...  Anyways, I want this project to help provide to people what they need, and without them having to pay for something to survive.

Side notes:
Sorry I have to rant about a few things because I didn't understand some of them...
1.  How were they able to find an "artificial" air source and then bottle it? That really didn't make sense, but I guess it is a movie...
2.  How are the trees like silk? -___-; It didn't make one sense but I want one either way.
3.  If the Lorax was the protector of the forest, why didn't he just shoot down lightning or something to the Once-ler's mansion?  But whatever...

Overall I really enjoyed the movie!

One more thing, I saw John Carter as well and I didn't get how he went to Mars and he was stronger than all of them...  Mars' gravity is stronger than Earth's therefore, he should be crawling not jumping ten stories... Oh well...

Project First Impressions

Joe - One impression that I get when I think of this project is that this project has much potential. If all the students in Mr. Blake’s Physics classes take this project seriously, then not only will we benefit, but the whole high school could benefit. There are many problems within our High School mainly with the students and the Administration. Often times, students disrespect teachers, administration, and our resources.
Hey this is Austin.  So we have been given a group project to help better our school by using our vast knowledge of physics (*cough cough).  I think that this project will help to benefit us in the long run.  I was thinking of doing something about the structure of the school.  So one of my friends told me that her friend was almost hit by a falling ceiling tile.  I believe the problem was that the classroom right above it was marine biology so they did have a lot of water on the floor, probably loosening the foundation of the tile.  However, I am not sure because some of the science classrooms located on the second floor, were also falling.  But that’s just one idea.  I think I am going to ask some people for any problems they might have faced during school.  But for now I think brainstorming is key for this project.
Hey it’s Shelly. I think that this project is going to be pretty interesting because it has to do with us directly working to try and make some sort of a change in our school. There are so many different ways we could go with this project, and I’m pretty excited to see where we end up with it. The only thing that makes me nervous is that this project is pretty much our entire grade for fourth quarter, but I’m confident that my group will work hard and do our best, so overall, I’m looking forward to working with my group on this.
Sean- This project overall is a great idea. I like the main concept of doing a project to improve our school. It will be amusing to see what kind of ideas people come up with. It will take a lot of brainstorming to come up with an idea that will work, but Im sure our group will come up with something! I look forward to starting this project.
